10/1/24 – This is an excellent example of a Luftwaffe Glider Pilots badge. These badges are highly sought after and are considered to be one of the most rare Luftwaffe badges of WW2. This badge is a late war all zinc version of the badge and is constructed with the eagle soldered directly to the wreath which is correct for late war examples. The maker of this badge is unknown, as this is an unmarked variation, which is also correct. This badge is in overall excellent condition with the eagle and wreath motif being strong and highly recognizable. These badges were instituted on December 16th, 1940 and were awarded to only those pilots who successfully completed the Luftwaffe’s glider training course.
