8/21/23 – This is an original WW2 era production Portuguese Military K98 bayonet. The bayonet is likely 1937 production, which was the 1st year of the Portuguese Contract for these weapons, based on the serial number “E15245” stamped on the pommel of the bayonet. The bayonet pommel is also stamped with droop winged eagle waffen proof stamps, which is another indicator of 1937 production. The scabbard tip also has a waffen proof stamp. The bayonet blade is in minty condition with minimal finish loss and excellent, clean bluing throughout. There’s some mild finish loss on the cross guard and pommel, but no major issues. The wood handles are excellent as well with no cracks or chips. Comes with a leather frog and a minty condition scabbard, as shown.
