6/14/23 – This is an ultra rare Colt 1911A1 from 1945 with JSB inspector mark on frame. Those initials stand for John S. Begley, who inspected only the very last WW2 military examples produced. It’s estimated that only ~25 remain or are known of the ~2000 that he inspected. Thus, due to a low survival rate, these frames are potentially more rare than the Singer 1911A1. This particular example was re-worked and comes out of the CMP. It has a Colt slide and frame. These guns were also re-parkerized by the CMP, and this one is in excellent condition. HS barrel with mint bore, but barrel has also been parkerized. Very nice grips with minor smoothing. Postwar magazine. Comes with the CMP hard case and basic extras. All correct examples are recently selling in the $15-20k range.
