10/7/22 – This is an excellent example of an arsenal-reworked and refurbished Springfield Model 1903 rifle. The serial number on the receiver dates it to about 1938-1939. The barrel is Springfield marked and dates to September of 1944. The wood stock has been replaced and has what looks like a rack number on the right side of the butt stock. Overall, the gun is in excellent condition. There is very little actual finish loss, just some minor handling marks here and there. Noticeable brown patina on the floor plate / trigger group. The wood stock is minty, but there is hairline crack between the butt plate and rear sling swivel and a small chip in the very front of the stock under the front barrel band. The bore is like-new.
