01/23/2024 – For sale is a US Model 1903 by Springfield Arsenal, manufactured in 1908. The barrel is marked SA for Springfield Armory and 4-08 for April of 1908. The stock is in great shape with no signs of damage. There is a cartouche stamped BHM on the left side. The metal is well worn for its age and places like the bolt handle has almost all of its finish worn away. The bore is very bright with good rifling but is frosted towards the muzzle. The rifle comes with paperwork from the Springfield Research Service noting this rifle was issued to the US Coast Guard Academy in New London Connecticut. The paperwork notes this rifle has a pitted bore, but this does not match what we see on this rifle.
