8/1/22 – This is a nice Springfield Armory M1 Garand with fairly early six-digit serial number from the summer of 1942. The gun was re-worked after the war, with a barrel dating to 1966 and a stock with just a circle P on the wrist. The finish on the receiver is very nice but there’s some pitting on the crown of the barrel. Most of the finish loss is on the gas tube, but there’s also oxidation throughout on the trigger group. The bore is shiny with strong rifling. Muzzle and throat reading are both a 1. The stock is in very good condition with no cracks or notable chips.
