11/6/23 – This is an exceptional Remington Model 700 BDL rifle manufactured in 1969, chambered in .30-06, and featuring a 22″ barrel. This BDL was manufactured in the first year that Remington implemented several significant design improvements. The rear bolt shroud was extended to cover the area around the firing pin assembly, for added reliability. The stock was restyled and a new checkering pattern introduced. The bolt was given a jeweled finish, and the butt plate material was changed from an adonized aluminum to a hard black plastic to reduce weight. This rifle is in nearly immaculate condition, with only a couple surface scratches along the top of the barrel. Wood furniture is practically mint, with a few barely visible handling marks. The gun was test fired in the factory but has not been fired since, and the bore is pristine.
