3/11/22 – This is an excellent example of a rare Mauser Luger issued to the Kriegsmarine in 1938. There were only 2,400 Navy Mauser Lugers produced in 1938, and there were only about 6,000 Kriegsmarine Mauser Lugers ever marked as such. This particular gun is all matching, has the proper “Eagle 63” military acceptance proofs, and has an “N 2509” Navy property marking on the back strap. It comes as a rig with a very nice 1938-dated Navy-marked holster and two period-correct Navy-marked magazines that are not matching to the gun. The gun itself has retained about 96% of its original bluing. There are just hints of thinning on both grip straps and areas of very minor wear on the side plate, side rails, and around the muzzle. A few tiny handling marks on the barrel. Comes with excellent matching-numbered wood grips. The bore has strong rifling with areas of minor frosting throughout.
