3/8/23 – This is a minty example of a Remington Model 1903-A3 rifle issued to the US military in 1943-44. The barrel is Remington marked and dated December of 1943. The left side of the stock has the proper military cartouches for this gun. This particular gun comes with a detailed data sheet and parts list and also comes with a letter written by the original owner to the Curator at Remington Arms Company regarding the serial number of this gun. No response was recorded. The metal parts have retained virtually of their finish. There is a “W” scratched very lightly into the floor plate. The stock is near-mint. Comes with a canvas sling and a flaming bomb proofed front sight hood. The bore has strong rifling, but there is pin-pricking throughout. The door on the butt plate has been glued shut as the door does not stay closed on its own.
