11/21/23 – This is a great example of a Werndl model 1867/77 used by the Austro-Hungarian Empire before the turn of the century. The 1877 update to the Werndl Rifle allowed for the rifle to use the more powerful 11.15x42mmR black powder cartridge. The rifle is in great condition for its age. There are spots of bluing here and there but the majority of the rifle is covered in a nice layer of patina. The stock is also in great shape with no signs of damage anywhere. The bore is excellent being very bright with sharp rifling. The action locks up nicely and functions well.
