2/9/23 – This is a professionally refinished, all matching numbered K98 Sniper Rifle with an attached ZF41 scope. The rifle has all the telltale characteristics of a Mitchell’s Mauser K98. The blonde stock has been heavily sanded and re-stamped with a matching serial number. The stock has soft wood that’s in excellent condition with a very attractive look. The metal has been refinished, leaving a dark blued color that’s excellent and consistent throughout the small parts. There’s some mild surface wear on the underside of the barrel, but otherwise the metal is in 99%+ condition. All numbered parts are matching to the receiver, 8606h. The bolt has a polished steel finish and is matching numbered as well. The attached ZF scope is likely a high-end reproduction as both the scope and mount are in minty condition with crisp optics and functional adjustment knobs. Import stamped on the barrel as shown. Mechanically excellent with smooth action and a very nice bore. There’s strong rifling throughout the bore with some mild patina within the grooves. However we still think the bore is great overall and should have no issues firing accurately, 8.5/10.
