12/31/18 – This is an original M1 Carbine made by Inland for WW2. The serial number puts this rifle production in 1942. The stock is military cartouche stamped and “RIA” on the opposite side for Rock Island Arsenal, meaning this is a replacement stock. Early high wood makes this period correct for the rifle though. There is a small crack in the stock near the charging handle. The metal parts are all correct and original to the rifle. The metal is in about 85-90% condition with some patina on the barrel as well as light finish loss on the barrel. Some light rust on the edges of the butt plate. The bore is excellent and shiny though with good rifling and light signs of use. Guaranteed original and authentic.
