5/11/23 – This is an excellent example of a Springfield M1 Garand issued to the US military during WW2. The receiver dates to about October of 1944. The barrel is Springfield marked and dated January of 1945. We believe the stock has been replaced and the cartouches on the left side were reapplied. The metal parts have retained most of their finish, just some light scuffing along the barrel and gas tube. Minty wood stock that was likely sanded. Comes with a green canvas sling. Near-mint bore. Muzzle reading: 1. Throat reading: 1. Cleaning kit in the butt plate.
