10/6/20 – This is an excellent example of a Colt 1911A1 rig issued to the US military in 1943. The rig comes with one period-correct magazine and a Boyt, 1943-dated shoulder holster. The gun is “US Property” marked and has a cross-canon military cartouche on the tang. The slide is numbered and matches the frame. The pistol has retained about 95% of its original finish. There is very minor muzzle wear and minor high edge wear on the slide. Light scratch toward the muzzle end of the left side of the slide. There is an area of wear and light oxidation on the front strap just below the trigger guard. There is spotty oxidation on the barrel visible through the ejection port. Excellent period-correct grips. The holster is very nice – just some surface scuffs. The bore has decent rifling, but there is light freckling throughout.
