6/4/21 – This is an excellent example of a DWM Artillery Luger rig issued to the Imperial German military in 1917. The gun is all matching and has the proper Imperial proofs. The rig comes with a matching 1917-dated holster, matching shoulder stock, original cleaning rod, un-marked Luger tool, and a mismatched period-correct magazine. The stock is numbered on the wood slab. The leather harness on the stock has been modified, likely done during that period. There is a crack in the base of the magazine. The gun has retained about 95% of its original finish. Most of the wear is on the side plate. There are also areas of wear on the side rails, around the muzzle, and a hint of wear on the straps. Spotty oxidation on the straps and very minor pitting on the side plate. The bore is very nice – shiny with strong rifling with areas of minor freckling here and there. Comes with excellent matching grips – small chip in the left panel.
