6/6/23 – This is a nice example of an Eddystone Model 1917 issued to the US military in 1917. All parts are Eddystone-marked, and the barrel is dated October of 1917. Flaming bomb and “Eagle Head” military acceptance proofs on the receiver. Flaming bomb on the bolt handle as well. The metal parts have retained roughly 70% of their bluing with spotty wear throughout and some discoloration on the floor plate. The wood furniture is very nice with no major damage, just minor handling marks and scratches throughout. One more noticeable blemish on the left side of the stock, near the bolt release lever. The bore is mostly shiny with strong rifling, but there is noticeable spotty oxidation in the grooves.
