4/12/23 – This is an excellent example of an Arisaka Type 99 issued to the Japanese military during WW2. All matching with a completely intact Imperial mum stamp on the receiver. It comes with an original monopod and a matching-numbered dust cover. It also comes with an original capture document that lists a Japanese rifle but does not specify a serial number. Also comes with a newspaper clipping. The gun itself has retained about 98% of its original finish. There is very little actual finish loss, but there is brown patina under the bluing and light pin-pricking covering virtually all of the metal parts. Heavy oxidation on the butt plate. The wood furniture has no major damage, but there are typical sings of wear throughout. Some more noticeable gouges on the upper handguard. The rifling in the bore is slightly worn with frosting in the grooves. A few small spots of light surface oxidation.
