6/3/24 – This is an original 1943 dated K98 rifle bayonet from WW2. The bayonet comes with an original matching numbered scabbard and an attached leather frog. The bayonet blade is in great condition, near-excellent with mild scabbard rub wear and thinning / finish loss near the tip. Maker and date stamped “43cqh” on one side of the base, and serial numbered on the other. The hand guard and pommel have light finish loss and natural patina but no major issues and nice original finish still intact. Handles have no cracks or chips. The scabbard is matching to the blade with the same maker and date stamp on one side and the serial number on the other (5738a). Excellent finish with light, natural patina on the scabbard. No dents or major issues. The leather frog is in great overall condition as well with all original leather and stitching.
