12/19/22 – This is a nice example of a Colt Model 1911A1 issued to the US military in 1943. It is “United States Property” marked, “GHD” proofed on the left side, and has the proper cross-cannon military cartouche on the right side of the frame. This slide is properly numbered and matching to the frame. Post-war replaced barrel. The gun has been entirely refinished. There isn’t a ton of actual finish loss, but there are light scratches and handling marks throughout – most noticeable on the right side of the gun and on the front strap. Areas of minor pitting under the finish on the whole slide and left side of the frame. Fitted with nice period-correct reddish plastic grips and comes with a reproduction magazine. The bore has decent rifling, but there is minor pitting in the grooves.
