12/7/22 – This is an excellent example of a Remington Model 1903 rifle issued to the US military during WW2. The receiver dates to 1942. The barrel was made by Remington, has a military flaming bomb proof, and is dated April of 1942. Most of the small parts are “R” marked. The bolt is marked “BF1”. There is a very faint “FJA” stamp on the left side of the stock. Interestingly enough, this gun has some USMC attributes, such as the hatcher hole on the left side of the receiver and checkered butt plate, but we can’t say for sure if it was issued to the USMC. Overall, the gun is in excellent condition, retaining about 94% of its finish. There is general high edge wear, wear around the muzzle, and some minor thinning along the barrel. A few tiny scratches on the floor plate / trigger group. Excellent stock that appears to have been sanded. A few small holes that have been filled in. The upper handguards appear to be replaced. Mint bore.
