9/21/23 – This is a nice example of a Colt Model 1911 from 1913. The slide is a rare 1913 pattern Navy-marked slide. However, the serial number on the frame also dates to 1913 but is not in the accepted range for Navy issued guns. So the slide and frame are mated. It comes with a replaced WW2-era barrel. The barrel is “P” proofed, but we can’t make out the maker. The gun has retained roughly 65% of its original bluing. There are areas of spotty wear throughout, concentrated mostly on the grip straps, around the muzzle, and on the high edges of the slide. Areas of spotty patina and pin-pricking here and there, most obvious on the grip straps. Fitted with period-correct wood grips and comes with a proper two-tone magazine with a lanyard loop on the bottom. The bore has good rifling with minor pin-pricking throughout.
