8/7/24 – This is an excellent Smith & Wesson Model 1917 issued to the US military during WW1. It is all matching, “United States Property” marked, and has the proper flaming bomb and “Eagle Head” military acceptance proofs. It has retained about 96% of its finish with some minor wear around the muzzle, along the barrel, and some light spotty oxidation on the grip straps. The right grip panel is numbered and matching. Small chip in the left grip. The bore has pretty good rifling, but there is some pin-pricking in the grooves.
