3/20/24 – This a nice example of an early Springfield Model 1903. The serial number on the receiver dates it to 1906. The barrel is SA marked and dated 1905. Proper early upper handguard. The finish on the metal parts rates roughly 75%. Most of the finish loss is on the receiver. The stock has been sanded and lightly lacquered. The rifling in the bore is pretty worn with minor pitting throughout.
