11/11/24 – This is a nice example of a scarce WB-marked Colt Model 1911A1 issued to the US military in 1942. The slide is numbered and matching. It is “United States Property” marked and has “WB” inspector initials. “Colt 45 Auto” barrel with a large “G” under the lug. The gun shows very little actual finish loss, but there is noticeable spotty oxidation / patina throughout. Fitted with period-correct reddish-brown plastic grips and comes with a post-war commercial magazine. Shiny bore with minor frosting in the grooves.
