9/13/24 – This is a great example of an Imperial German Navy (Kaiserliche Marine) brocade belt. This belt is in great overall condition. These belts would have been worn on special dress occasions when the sailors of the Kaiser’s navy had to be in full dress uniform. There is some minor fraying on the edges of the belt but overall the majority of the stitching remains Both attachment points inside the belt for hanging a naval dagger are still present. The interior felt/velvety liner remains intact with only one minor tear around one of the belt holes.
