11/21/24 – This is an excellent example of a last-ditch Japanese Arisaka Type 99 rifle from 1945. It is all matching with a completely intact Imperial mum stamp on the receiver. It has the proper late-war features, such as peep-style rear sight, rough machining, and wood butt plate. There is very little actual finish loss on the metal parts, but there are spots of minor oxidation and what look like a few whitish scuffs along the barrel. Some very light surface rust around the muzzle. Excellent wood stock – very little sign of use. The front handguard wiggles a little bit. Mint bore.
