4/11/24 – This is an excellent example of a “dot 44” Waffenwerke Brunn Semi-Kriegsmodell rifle issued to the Nazi military in 1944. It has proper features for this variation, such as no bayonet lug, screw-fastened barrel bands, a “qnw” made floor plate and trigger assembly, and has stock discs. All numbered parts are matching. Overall, the gun is in excellent condition with just minor high edge wear. The wood stock is very nice, but there is a repaired crack in the upper handguard and a hairline crack along the base of the butt stock – this is only a surface crack, not structural. No visible stock markings. The bore is mostly shiny with great rifling, but there is some spotty surface oxidation and pitting toward the muzzle end. This particular gun also comes with its original handmade wood shipping crate from WW2. It is addressed from an Alfonso Mattiucci to a Mr. Vincent Matticucci in NY, NY. The two small side panels are missing, and there are a couple of cracks in the wood.
