8/28/24 – This is a rare Inland Paratrooper M1A1 carbine. It’s an early Type 1 example with flip sight, six digit serial and no bayonet lug. Barrel dated to February of 1943. Original cheek pad with correct brass rivets. The bottom of the grip is “IO” marked, but there is no visible cross-canon cartouche. Circle P on the back of the stock. No signs of a bayo lug ever added or removed. No stake marks on the original rear site. The finish on the metal parts rates roughly 50% with thinning and light spotty oxidation throughout. The wood furniture shows the typical signs of wear and use, and there is a hairline crack at the back left of the stock. The bore is mostly shiny with strong rifling, but there is a small area of minor pitting about halfway down the barrel. Comes with one magazine, canvas sling, a 1944-dated canvas muzzle cap, and a 1943-dated Atlas Awning canvas carrying case.
