06/25/2024 – For sale is a Model 1903 made by Rock Island Arsenal in 1917. The overall rifle rates at about 93% condition with majority of the wear on the receiver. The rifle has been rebuilt as it has a Springfield barrel marked 5-42 and the stock is a scant stock. The stock does not have the P proof on the wrist. The rear barrel band is blued but the front nose cap is parkerized. The bore is fairly bright with good rifling but until the last 2 inches which is worn. It rates a 6 on the muzzle erosion using a bore gauge. The muzzle looks like it has been re-crowned sometime in the past. The rifle comes with a spare front sight hood.
