9/11/23 – This is an excellent example of a Parker Bros Double barrel shotgun, manufactured from between 1875 and the early 1900s. This is a G grade (grade 2) shotgun with 26″ damascus twist engraved barrels. The metal is in great condition with minimal patina, and has engravings throughout. The top of the barrel is marked “Parker Bros Makers. Meriden Conn. Damascus Steel.” Under the breech is stamped the serial number and a patent date. The barrels have a gorgeous Damascus pattern. The bottom of the barrel is stamped with a patent and some numbers. The locking lug has the last 3 of the nor handling marks. The forend has the serial number stamped underneath, with a very nice case hardening color. The bore is smooth by design and needs to be cleaned, as there is a dark soot inside.
