10/15/24 – This is a minty example of a very rare “Zero Series” Walther P.38, manufactured in 1945. They are called a zero series because the serial numbers start with a zero. Only 1,750 of these were produced according to Whittington’s book. This one is all matching and has “Eagle 359” military acceptance proofs. It has retained about 97% of its original finish. While there is very little actual finish loss, there are some casting flaws (typical for these late-war guns) and some minor pitting on the front strap. A couple of small casting flaws on the right side of the muzzle and one small area of discoloration on the right side of the slide. Fitted with reddish bakelite grips and comes with an un-proofed jvd magazine. Mint bore. The bore has very strong rifling, but there are some tiny pits in the grooves. De-cocker is functional.
