8/20/24 – This is a near-mint example of a Walther P.38 manufactured at the end of the war, in 1945. The gun is all matching and has only two “Eagle 359” military proofs, indicating it was never issued to the Nazi military. Most of the small parts have a phosphate finish, which is correct for these really late war guns. It has retained about 98% of its original finish. There are just hints of wear on the high edges of the slide and minor wear on the barrel through the ejection port. There are some very minor handling marks here and there and an area of very tiny freckling on the right side of the slide. Comes with excellent grips and a rare end-of-war “U” marked magazine. The bore is stone-mint. De-cocker is functional.
