9/11/24 – This is a very nice example of a rare Mauser Model 1914 sold in the commercial market in the 1920’s. It is all matching and has the proper “Crown U” proofs. This one is unique because it has an “AF Stoeger Inc New-York” private retailer marking, indicating this gun was sent from Germany to AF Stoeger for resale in the US commercial market. We’re not entirely sure of the marking, because others we’ve seen were marked on the right side of the frame, not on the top of the slide. It’s finish rates about 90% with noticeable finish loss on the front strap. Comes with nice wood grip and a period-correct magazine. The bore has good rifling, but there is some fouling in the grooves.
