11/25/24 – This is a very nice example of a Colt Model 1917 revolver issued to the US military during WW1. It is all matching, has the proper military acceptance proof on the left side of the frame, and is “United States Property” marking on the underside of the barrel. It’s original bluing rates about 95%. While there isn’t a ton of actual finish loss, there is light brown patina here and there and an area of light spotty oxidation on the left side of the muzzle. Fitted with period-correct grips – they are numbered but mismatched. The bore has excellent rifling, but there is very light freckling throughout.
