12/2/24 – This is a very nice example of a hard-to-find Colt M1911A1, manufactured in 1941 with proper RS inspectors mark. There were only ~35,000 Colt 1911’s produced that year, which is a very low production number for Colt 1911’s in general. The RS – Robert Sears inspector proof is very rare and desirable for Colt collectors. This one has a mismatched slide that is not far off (numbered “936”). Proper Colt barrel with a “G” under the lug. The gun’s original blued finish shows noticeable spotty oxidation along the slide along with some light pin-pricking here and there. Fitted with minty period-correct wood grips. Comes as a rig with a 1942-dated Boyt holster and a two-tone magazine. The bore has decent rifling, but there is obvious pitting throughout.
