12/2/24 – This is an excellent example of a Colt Model 1911A1 issued to the US military in 1942. Only about 100,000 were produced that year, compared to over 750,000 in 1943. The slide is numbered and matching. It is “United States Property” marked and has “WB” inspector initials. Colt 45 Auto barrel with a “G” under the lug. The gun has retained nearly all of its original finish, but there are a couple of spots of pitting at the front right of the slide. Fitted with an excellent set of period-correct reddish plastic grips and comes with one “L”-marked magazine. It also comes with a period-correct cardboard “craft box” and original wrapping paper. The bore is mint.
