5/21/24 – This is a nice example of a Colt Model 1911A1 issued to the US military in 1942. Only about 100,000 were produced that year, compared to over 750,000 in 1943. The slide is numbered and matching. It is “United States Property” marked and has “WB” inspector initials. Springfield barrel. The gun has been completely re-parkerized with no signs of finish loss. Fitted with period-correct reddish-brown plastic grips and comes with a parkerized magazine. The bore has good rifling, but there is some freckling and pin-pricking in the grooves.
