9/24/24 – This is a DGFM M1927, an Argentinian copy of the original Colt 1911A1. This one is all matching, has the proper Argentine seal and markings, and comes with an original matching-numbered magazine. The left side of the slide is marked “William T Hamilton”. It comes with a letter stating this gun was presented by the President of Argentina, Juan Peron, in 1947, to Major William Hamilton. The occasion was an official visit to Argentina by Lt. General Crittenberger (Commander-in-Chief, Caribbean Command). The letter is signed by William’s son. The gun has retained nearly all of its high polish finish with just a few tiny dots of discoloration on the right side of the frame. Mint bore.
