11/20/24 – This is a Model 1911A1 pistol issued to the US military in 1944. Likely sold to the public through the Civilian Marksmanship Program. Remington Rand frame, Ithaca slide, and a post-war Colt barrel. It has retained about 96% of its parkerized finish with minor high edge wear, muzzle wear, a few small dots of oxidation around the muzzle, and very minor wear on the grip straps. Fitted with period-correct reddish plastic grips and comes with an “S” marked magazine. Very nice bore with great rifling and just some very minor frosting in the grooves.
