7/28/16 – This is an original, rare US Marine Raider Stiletto Knife. The knife comes with the original leather scabbard that has been slightly “field modified” with thick green threading along the edge. The scabbard has no markings but is original and correct for this piece. The blade is slightly worn and shows signs of use. The tip has been chipped and ground, but from what research tells me this is a very common issue, as the tips were brittle and these blades saw heavy use. There are some minor signs of sharpening, but no major sharpening damage. The handle is all one piece and in great shape. The provenance included with this dagger is straight from the original owner – he inherited this piece from his father. We have photo copies of his six air medal gold stars he was awarded, a copy of his resignation letter from the Marine Corps., discharge paperwork, and a few images of him when he served during WW2, and after WW2 when he later served in the first Presidential Marine Helicopter Unit. Guaranteed original and authentic.
