10/26/23 – This is an early / pre WW1 US M1906 rifle bayonet for a Springfield M1903 rifle or Krag rifle. This example features a bright blade that is generally clean with a few traces of spotty surface patina and discoloration. The base of the blade is “SA” stamped with an ordnance stamp and 1908 date. The reverse is lot numbered and “US” stamped. Natural dark browning patina throughout the cross guard and pommel. Original wood grips are in great condition with no major cracks or chips. Comes with an original leather-wrapped scabbard with surface wrinkling throughout. The base of the scabbard has missing and loose stitches, causing the leather to split at the seam. The original metal swivel belt hanger is still intact.
