5/17/24 – This is a super rare and original Colt 1911A1 slide from 1938 based off the serial behind the firing pin stop. 1938 is the lowest production year for any 1911 or 1911A1, with only 1,296 produced that year. The serial on this slide is 712,809 – firmly inside the range of 712,350-713,645. The bluing on the slide is original and in very good condition, with minor bluing loss around the front edges and underside of the slide. There is also some minor pitting on the right side of the slide and a little more freckling in the serrations. Correct, large ‘P’ on top of slide.
