11/1/22 – This is a great example of an original ZF scope for a K43/G43 rifle from WW2 that includes the original leather scope caps and a Walther military proofed scope mount. The metal is in great overall condition. There are minor signs of handling wear throughout the scope and mount, but no excessive wear. The scope has retained a majority of its blued finish and is marked “K43 81835 ddx.” with a blue colored triangle symbol, indicating cold weather use, on the left-hand side. The mount has pinpricking and oxidation throughout. The mount is marked with an eagle 359 proof mark and serial numbered “4587”. The optic is clean and the reticle is sharp. There are no cracks on the external lenses and no signs of cracks internally. The leather lens caps are in overall good condition. The front cap has torn away from the strap securing the set together. The leather is in otherwise good condition and the stitching is clean and strong. All scope adjustment knobs function properly.
