5/12/23 – This is an original WW2 production ZF 4 scope with a Walther military proofed mount. Everything on this grouping is original. The scope is in great condition with nice bluing throughout the exterior and clear optics internally. There is a very slight hint of some cloudiness and general age through the optic, but this is only about 5% overall, and is considered natural “honest” wear. The reticle is crisp and the adjustment knobs are tight and fully functional. The top adjustment knob for windage comes with an original metal cover as well. The left side of the scope exterior is maker code stamped “ddx” with a blue painted triangle, meaning this scope was treated for winter conditions, and was likely meant for the Eastern front. The scope mount rings have some mild patina and finish loss but are in good overall condition. The mount has a phosphate finish and is proof stamped with an eagle/359 military proof. There’s also an electro-penciled serial number 8813 on the mount, as shown.
