11/10/22 – This is a nice example of a Colt Model 1917 Revolver issued to the US military during WWI. It is all matching, “United States Property” marked, and has the proper “Eagle Head S19” military acceptance proof on the frame. There is an “AA” marking on the right side of the frame, indicating it was reworked at the Augusta Arsenal. This one has an arsenal-applied parkerized finish. The majority of the actual finish loss is on the grip straps. But there is minor wear around the high edges in general and noticeable scuffs and light scratches throughout. An area of light brown patina on the right side of the frame and some minor pin-pricking on the grip straps. Original lanyard ring is intact. Comes with period-correct wood grips – small dings and bruises throughout and a tiny chip in the bottom corner of the left side. Minty bore. The cylinder is tight, and the action is smooth.
