7/11/24 – This is a WW2 original USN M1 Helmet with original chinstrap and liner. The helmet shell is McCord manufactured with a front seam, lot number stamped “781A” on the interior shell, and has fixed chinstrap loops (or bales). The exterior shell shows natural aging patina and discoloration mostly concentrated around the crown. No dents or major issues and all original Navy repaint. The chinstrap is still attached, but is tattered around each loop, as shown. The liner is maker stamped by Westinghouse on the interior crown, and is in great overall condition. The leather liner chinstrap is very delicate, and broken in one spot (shown in last photo). An overall great example USN WW2 Helmet.
