7/5/22 – This is an original Weimar era production Police bayonet that was later diverted to the Nazi police during WW2. The bayonet features a 12.75 inch blade (11.5 inch edge) that has a shiny nickeled finish. The blade tip has some mild pitting and oxidation wear. The spine of the blade is Star/K proof stamped and numbered “316”. One side of the blade is maker stamped by Alexander Coppel, while the reverse has the abbreviated stamp “ASC” as shown. The stag handle features a Nazi police logo and is in great overall condition. The metal hand guard and pommel are in good condition with mild patina but no excessive wear. Comes with an original scabbard and 1939 dated leather frog.
