9/4/19 – This is an original 1941 dated K98 bayonet with an original scabbard and leather frog. The scabbard is numbered “6610e” and the blade is only 5 digits off being numbered “6605e”. The leather frog appears unmarked. The frog leather has scuffing and surface wear throughout, but is all original leather and stitching. The scabbard has rust along the sides and more down towards the tip, but no dents. The blade has a nice plumb colored finish with some light edge wear and no rust, pitting, or signs of sharpening. The handle has no cracks or chips, but the metal portion has patina and rust colored discoloration throughout. See photos.
