6/17/22 – This is an original WW2 hand made Japanese Officer’s sword. The sword tang is inscribed Ishi Do Teru Hide Saku, which translates to “Ishi Do Teruhide made this”. The maker is documented as a medium to high grade Showato. The blade is in good condition despite some spots of pitting and dark spotty discoloration near the blade edge and tip. The tempered edge is still evident and being handmade, it is still sharp. The hand guard and handle are in great condition with some signs of aging and surface wear throughout but no major issues. The wrapped handle and shark / ray skin underneath is in great condition. The scabbard is in great shape despite some cracking and imperfections, mostly near the toe or tip-end of the scabbard.
