5/10/22 – This is an original WW2 Japanese Naval Officer’s Sword. The is shiny and unsharpened, in great overall condition. There are a few small blemishes and minor surface scratches but this is mostly normal scabbard wear. The blade edge is approximately 24 inches long with a 1 inch ricasso. Overall length is approx. 35 inches (without the scabbard). There is one very small nick in the blade edge, but the factory “replica” tempered finish is still visible throughout the edge line. The wrapped handle is in great condition as well with nice fittings that show mild patina. The fittings are matching numbered “6” as shown. The wood scabbard is in great condition with excellent black painted finish throughout, and some minor chipping and damage near the toe, but this isn’t severe. A very nice factory-made Japanese Navy Officer katana.
